About Nest & Grove

A space for the lives around us.

Stories, ideas and inquiry about animals, our relationships with them, and the world we share.

A nest is a place of safety. It is built with care, piece by piece, to hold something precious. A grove is a place where many lives grow beside one another, each different, each belonging to the same earth.

Together, they remind us of something simple that is easy to forget: this world was never ours alone.

We share our homes, our streets, our forests, our oceans and our future with lives we may never fully understand. Lives that feel fear, seek comfort, form bonds, and have a place here just as we do.

Nest & Grove was created from the belief that the way we live, and the things we bring into our lives, can reflect that awareness without losing beauty or joy. Through stories, ideas and inquiry, this space explores what it means to live with greater care, rooted in compassion for animals and a commitment to plant-based, ethical living.

We do not believe compassion has to announce itself loudly. Sometimes it can live quietly in what we choose, what we refuse to take from another life, and what we decide is worth doing differently.

A nest for care. A grove for all of us.

What guides this space

Animals matter in their own right

The value of an animal’s life does not depend on what it can offer humans. Their lives deserve attention on their own terms.

Compassion belongs in everyday life

The choices we make about food, clothing and how we live can reflect greater care for other beings. Plant-based, ethical living is part of this conversation.

Questions deserve room

Familiar habits and assumptions are worth examining. This is a space for curiosity, reflection and thoughtful disagreement.

Evidence and honesty matter

Careful inquiry means distinguishing established evidence from interpretation and uncertainty, and being willing to revise an understanding.
